NHHFA awards funding for 13 affordable rental developments
Allocations to be used for new, rehab projects
The NH Housing Finance Authority has awarded funding to 13 multifamily affordable rental housing developments across the state.
The funding will create or preserve some 600 rental units in Ashland, Bethlehem, Concord, Dover, Enfield, Hanover, Keene, Londonderry, Merrimack, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Walpole.
NHHFA funding allocations for the multifamily developments comes from the federal HOME program, the state Affordable Housing Fund and the federal Housing Trust Fund, as well as the Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program.
Awarded funding were:
• AHEAD, for a 28-unit project in Bethlehem consisting of 14 two-bedroom units and 14 one-bedroom units.
• Penacook Landing Phase I, Caleb Development Corp., a 34-unit general occupancy development consisting of 25 one-bedroom units and 9 two-bedroom units in the Penacook section of Concord
• The Housing Partnership for Bradley Commons Phase II, a 10-unit residential building consisting of a one-bedroom unit and nine two-bedroom units in downtown Dover
• Westgate Village Apartments, SK Companies, a 130-unit, general occupancy development in Dover
• Twin Pines Housing for the Summer Park Residences project, a new three-story building to replace the three current buildings that contain 24 units of age-restricted housing. A subsequent phase will expand the project by 18 units with 12 studio units and 12 one-bedroom units
• NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire for Merrimack Townhomes, a 45-unit development consisting of 31 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom units in Merrimack
• Portsmouth Housing Authority for Court Street Apartments, a 64-unit development consisting of 48 one-bedroom units and 16 two-bedroom units in Portsmouth
• Avanru Development Group for Abenaki Springs Phase II, a 22-unit development consisting of 14 one-bedroom units and 8 two-bedroom units in Walpole
• Lakes Region Community Developers for renovations at Harvey Heights Phase I in Ashalen, which consists of two buildings constructed with four one-bedroom units and 36 two-bedroom units.
• Visions for Creative Housing Solutions Inc. for rehab work at Sunrise Farm, which includes 16 units in three existing buildings
• Keene Housing for acquisition and rehabilitation of Central Square Terrace, a 90-unit age-restricted downtown property
• Wallace Farm LLC for financing for Wallace Farm Phase I a 96-unit workforce housing project in Londonderry
• Bridge Housing Inc. for expansion of the 20-bed Bridge House emergency shelter for homeless people in Plymouth.
