New England SBA chief recalled to Navy duty
Charles Summers, the Small Business Administration’s New England regional administrator, has been recalled to active Navy duty and will be sent to Iraq in July.
Summers, a lieutenant commander, joined the U.S. Navy Reserve in 1996. He is part of Naval Information Bureau, 101, 5th Fleet, Bahrain.
This is the second time Summers has been called to active duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
Summers, a Scarborough, Maine, resident, became the regional SBA administrator in March 2005 after the death of Jeffrey Butland. – JEFF FEINGOLD
