The Greater Nashua Chapter of the NAACP is sponsoring a political forum Saturday from 12:30-2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 58 Lowell St.
The nonpartisan forum will feature candidates from both major parties.
Area residents, including minorities, are invited to attend. The event is one of several election-year education and awareness forums sponsored by the local chapter, which was formed in February.
Information will be available on how to register to vote and the importance of voting will be discussed.
Speakers will include former state Rep. Harvey Keye of Nashua, who will share why he cherishes the right to vote and will recall a time when Blacks could not vote in Alabama, where he was born.
Others include state Rep. Sue Harvey of Nashua’s Ward 2, who is an NAACP member.
Representatives from both Republican and Democratic state campaign offices will be on hand to answer questions about election issues and pass out literature.
Refreshments will be served.
