May new hire numbers remain flat

The number of newly hired workers in New Hampshire has remained essentially unchanged for the third consecutive month, according to new figures released by the New Hampshire Department of Economic Security.The department reported 16,383 new employees were added to New Hampshire payrolls in May – 79, or 0.5 percent, more than the 16,304 added in April. In March, 16,023 new workers were hired by Granite State companies.May’s hiring rate was also 30 percent off the pace of new hires in May 2010, when 21,575 new hires were added. – CINDY KIBBE/NEW HAMPSHIRE BUSINESS REVIEW
