Faro Technologies sees ‘tremendous potential’ in acquisition

Faro Technologies, a Florida-based tech manufacturer has acquired Londonderry, NH-based Laser Projection Technologies.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

Faro, a publicly owned company whose stock is traded on the Nasdaq, makes software and 3-D-based laser beam measuring devices for manufacturing and other industries.

The deal for the New Hampshire firm’s laser-based products, expand Faro's offerings and five the company "tremendous potential to disrupt the market by establishing a new class of high-speed laser measurement with advanced 3-D imaging capabilities,” said Faro CEO Simon Raab.

Laser Projection’s technology, he said, is "faster than currently available Lidar products and has proprietary imaging features, which provide extraordinary qualitative and quantitative inspection capabilities in every area of manufacturing.”
