The number of newly hired New Hampshire workers in January was greater than a year earlier, but it’s still lower that of previous years.The New Hampshire Department of Employment Security reported that there were 18,540 new hires for the month of January, far more than the 10,734 new hires recorded in January 2010, but still behind the 20,213 in 2009 and 24,467 in 2008 in the same month.January’s numbers were also slightly lower than December’s, when 19,663 new workers were added to New Hampshire payrolls.The agency, which does not provide analysis for hiring patterns, tracks the data monthly from W4 forms submitted by employers. – CINDY KIBBE/NEW HAMPSHIRE BUSINESS REVIEW
