The Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative School Destination ImagiNation team has scheduled several fund-raisers to cover costs of the team’s trip to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Global Finals at the University of Tennessee. The team needs an estimated $8,000.
Scheduled events include:
– This Saturday: Italian Dinner Theatre, at the high school, featuring spaghetti, dessert and entertainment by students. It will also include a raffle drawing (contestants need to be present to win). Dinner will be served from 6-7 p.m., with entertainment beginning at 7. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children under 16, children under 6 are free.
– Saturday, May 15: Carwash from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Wilton Fire Station on Main Street.
– Saturday, May 22: Concert featuring two local bands: Mottau, Drew and Clark, and String Theory, at 7:30 p.m. at the high school, 57 School Road.
The concert will benefit both WLC DI team and Milford High School DI team who are also going to the global competition. Tickets are $5 advance or $7 at the door.

Another piece of Chinese owned property in Nashua has come to the public’s attention — the former Daniel Webster College property, encompassing some 52 acres. Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess encouraged the Board of Aldermen on Sept. 9 to pass a resolution giving him the authority to seek state and/or federal funds to purchase the property, currently owned by Xinhua Education Consulting Services Corp.
James “Jim” Loomis, co-founder of Portsmouth-based Bottomline Technologies, passed away on Sept. 6 in his hometown of Dover after a period of declining health. He was 75. After its creation in 1989 with business partner Daniel McGurl, Bottomline became a worldwide leader in automated business payments and cash management.
