Exeter Handkerchief Factory hits market at $3.5M
A vestige of Exeter’s industrial past in the historic Lincoln Street corridor is up for sale, and it has a hefty price tag.

Construction has begun at River’s Edge, the 32-unit affordable housing project being built by Laconia Area Community Land Trust.
Significant site work is being completed, including the mitigation of hazardous materials. Scheduled for completion in May 2016, River’s Edge will feature one- and two-bedroom units on a site between Union Avenue and the Winnipesaukee River in Laconia.
The building was designed by the late George Hickey Architect. Warrenstreet Architects will see the project through construction, which is being managed by Ekman Construction.
The property will include a number of green features, including hydropower, a daycare, 500 linear feet of riverwalk. Units will be ready for occupancy in June 2016.
Financing for the $7.8 million project comes from NH Housing Finance Authority, Raymond James Tax Credit Fund and Citizens Bank, NH Community Development Finance Authority and Belknap County, the city of Laconia, NeighborWorks America, Rural Local Initiatives Support Corporation and LACLT.
