Chez Boucher cooking up teamwork
Whoever said too many cooks spoil the broth obviously wasn’t a team player, because that is exactly what Chez Boucher’s Cooking School is trying to do – build teams through Culinary Adventures cooking classes.
“Participants will have to choose a team captain, figure out how to divide up the workload, design a presentation and get everything done on time – just like real chefs,” said Chef Ron Boucher, owner of the Greenland-based French cooking school, which is located in the Artichokes Gourmet Shop.
He said he based these team-building seminars on professional culinary competitions that he judges. A maximum of 16 students, or four teams of four, will have a basket with everything needed to prepare a luncheon, including an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée with potato and vegetable and dessert – all within an allotted time period.
Teams will be judged by Boucher, his assistant and members of the company’s management staff on completion, presentation, and of course, taste.
Boucher, who also is owner and executive chef of Ron’s Landing restaurant in Hampton, said, “We feel this is a great concept. The team dynamics will be fascinating to watch.”
Culinary Adventures Team Seminars cost approximately $125 per team member, or $500 per team. For more information, call Chez Boucher at 964-9909 or visit chezboucher.com. — CK
