Centrix Bank, following in the footsteps of other local banks, reported a strong second quarter in earnings and growth. The Bedford-based commercial bank reported a net income of $1.5 million, or 47 cents a diluted share, for the quarter ending June 30, — a 9 percent increase over the second quarter of 2010. That brings net income for the first half to $2.6 million, or 84 cents a share, a decline year-to-date, unless you exclude some gains on the discretionary sale of select investment securities in 2010, in which case there would be an 8 percent increase. In any case, both assets ($790.4 million) and net loans ($476.3 million) increased 10 percent and deposits ($581.5 million) increased 7 percent. The bank’s book value per share is $14.71, compared to $13.07 a year ago. — BOB SANDERS/NEW HAMPSHIRE BUSINESS REVIEW
