Cedar Point takes second spot on Inc. 500

Cedar Point Communications has been recognized as the second-fastest growing private company in the United States as well as the country’s fastest-growing telecommunications company by Inc. magazine.

The Derry-based firm’s revenue growth rate of 14,853.3 percent between 2003 and 2006 and an annual revenue of $68.1 million were among the recognizable accomplishments noted by Inc. in its 2007 Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies.

Cedar Point – a provider of VoIP products and services — also was named the No. 1 company on the list of firms “Intending to Go Public” and the No. 1 company in the regions of Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

“Our growth over the past several years has been a testament to the vision of our founding team, the hard work of our employees and the loyalty of our customer base,” said Andy Paff, president and CEO of Cedar Point. “We’re pleased to have been recognized in a leadership position among private industry.”

The 2007 Inc. 500 list measures revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. Companies also had to be based in the United States, privately held and independent as of December 31,2006. Minimum company revenue had to fall between $200,000 for 2003 and $2 million in 2006.

A total of 33 New Hampshire companies were included on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5000 fastest-growing companies in the country for 2007, including GT Solar of Merrimack, which was also included in the top 500 list with a ranking of 342.
