Business NH changes hands

Heidi Copeland, associate publisher of Business NH magazine, has purchased Millyard Communications Inc., the company that publishes the monthly magazine. No sale price was given for the company, which also produces several statewide events, including the Made in NH expo. Copeland, who has been associate publisher of Business NH since 2005, acquired the company from Sean Mahoney, who has owned the firm since 2003. Mahoney ran for the Republican 1st Congressional District nomination in 2002 and 2010, but failed both times. “I had told Sean (Mahoney) that if he ever wanted to sell to consider me. It was really his decision that now was the time to sell,” Copeland told NHBR. “I love the magazine and I really love that business publications can flourish in New Hampshire,” said Copeland in a phone interview with NHBR. Copeland said she will become publisher of the magazine once the transaction is completed. “I’m delighted that the magazine will remain New Hampshire-owned,” Mahoney said in a press release about the deal. “Heidi has the skills, leadership and drive to bring the magazine to the next level, and I wish her the best in that endeavor.” As for any new initiatives in the coming year, Copeland said the magazine will “continue to expand its online opportunities.” – CINDY KIBBE/NEW HAMPSHIRE BUSINESS REVIEW
