AMHERST- The Amherst School Board recently appointed Deborah Martel as assistant principal of Amherst Middle School.
Martel replaces Porter Dodge, who has been promoted to principal of the school.
Prior to taking this position, Martel served as dean of students at Salem High School. She also held positions as dean of guidance and guidance counselor while at that school.
Martel holds a certification in educational administration from Rivier College, a master’s degree in counseling and consulting from Keene State College, and a bachelor’s degree in child development from the University of Maine at Orono.
