According to the bureau, the median household income – calculated by averaging median incomes from 2008 and 2009 – was $65,028 in New Hampshire, the highest of any state in the country.The Granite State’s first-place ranking is followed closely by New Jersey, with a median income of $64,918, and Connecticut in third at $64,644.
