The number of bankruptcies usually go up in March, and this year – especially after last month’s eight-year low – was no exception. But despite the disappointing bounce, far fewer bankruptcies were filed in New Hampshire in March 2013, and business-related bankruptcy filings dropped from 15 in February to 10.
All told, 265 New Hampshire households and businesses filed for bankruptcy protection in March, nearly a 35 percent increase from February, but 22 percent less than last March and the lowest number of filings in March since 2006.
Four businesses filed as a business, but there were six households that filed with recent business-related debt. As in past practice, NHBR will list the related businesses, not the individual:
• MC Isotti Enterprises (dba Zen Custom Motorcycles), Antrim, filed March 4, Chapter 7. Assets: $140,382. Liabilities: $245,773.
• Our Town Pizza LLC, dba Our Town Pizzeria & Family Restaurant, Peterborough, filed March 4, Chapter 11. Assets: $11,200. Liabilities: $117,130. (Business filing)
