Resonetics will house the team of its newly acquired Distal Solutions at its plant in San Diego, Calif.
Distal Solutions, a medical device company based in Westborough, Mass., has been acquired by Nashua-based Resonetics.
Distal specializes in the design and development of catheter-based delivery systems and implants. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Following the acquisition, the Distal team, led by founder David Rezac, will be expanding and opening a new office at Resonetics’ San Diego, Calif. site to enhance service to the dynamic MedTech market in California.
Resonetics focuses its technology on components and assemblies for medical device and diagnostics manufacturers. It has 10 offices across four countries and is owned by Regatta Medical, a portfolio company of Chicago private equity firm GTCR.
In May, the state of Ohio announced that Resonetics will be expanding its facility in that state than Nashua, thanks in part to a state assistance package that included an eight-year tax credit.
