The total number of New Hampshire bankruptcy filings dipped below 200 in February for the first time this decade — indeed, the first time since October 2006. That’s the good news.
The bad news: 15 failed businesses contributed to the filings.
Some 197 households and businesses filed for bankruptcy in February, a dozen fewer than January and 18 percent fewer than February 2013 – a trend that has continued, at roughly the same percentage rate, over the past two years.
Only one business filed as a business, but there were 14 individuals who filed with business-related debt. Business-related filings jumped from January, when there were only six such filings. As in past practice, NHBR will list the related businesses, not the individual:
• Wilderness Adventures Hunting and Angling Club, Hillsboro, filed Feb. 3, Chapter 12. Assets: $1 to $10 million. Liabilities: $500,000 to $1 million.
