Yard sale to benefit girl, 7, with cancer
A citywide yard sale is being organized to help a Merrimack girl with a rare bone cancer.
Monique Maynard, a Realtor with ReMax Properties in Nashua, is organizing the sale to benefit 7-year-old Alexandria “Lexi” Kittle, who has Ewing’s sarcoma, a cancer that occurs mostly in bone or soft tissue.
Kittle has been receiving outpatient chemotherapy treatments at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston for a leg tumor and for cancer that had spread to her lungs.
Since May, Lexi, who loves Hannah Montana, has been on the mend after surgery to replace her leg bone with one from a donor. She’s scheduled soon for radiation therapy for her lungs and then physical therapy.
Lexi’s father, Larry Kittle, works at ReMax, which has sponsored several fundraisers to help with medical expenses.
The latest event will be the yard sale, scheduled for Sept. 27, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at the realty office on Amherst Street. Baked goods and “Lexi Kittle” bracelets will also be on sale.
Maynard is accepting donations of items in good condition, but not computers, televisions, large furniture or clothing. Outerwear and boots will be accepted. All proceeds will go to the Kittle family, Maynard said.
