Veterans appointed

A city man who is an advocate for veterans is among a group appointed to an advisory council.

U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes, D-2nd District, announced that Grif Dalianis, civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army, has been named to the Veterans’ Advisory Council.

The council will meet with Hodes and his staff concerning issues relating to veterans.

“I am honored to have these New Hampshire veterans serving alongside me to help get our veterans the help and benefits they have earned serving our nation,” Hodes said.

Other members of the advisory council are:

n Barry Conway, commandant of the New Hampshire Veterans Home.

n James Devine II, U.S. Army retired, chief warrant officer 4.

n Rick Greenwood, lieutenant colonel, N.H. National Guard.

n William Hatch, a state representative from Gorham.

n Eleanor Kjellman, a self-employed education advocate.

n Richard Samson, U.S. Navy retired and Army National Guard retired, sergeant.

n Stephen Shurtleff, a state representative from Penacook.
