Utility gets $2.1m stimulus award

Pennichuck Water Works Inc., of Nashua, received a $2.1 million federal stimulus award to support revolving loans and make upgrades in Nashua, Milford and Derry.

The project will replace existing water mains in the French Hill section of the city ($1.3 million), build a new booster pump station in south Nashua ($300,000) and interconnect the Ashley Commons development in Milford with that town’s water system ($450,000).

The rest of the loan ($98,000) is to address a chronic water shortage in Pennichuck’s Glen Ridge system in Derry.
