UNH senior learns statesmanship
Parisi is New Hampshire’s lone representative in the congress. The senior senator in each state nominates one outstanding college junior to attend the undergraduate conference in Lexington, Ky., where the students learn about decision-making, conflict resolution and national and international relations.
The five-day curriculum, under the title of “Global Statesmanship in a Changing World,” is being held at the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University, as well as the Estate of Henry Clay. The course aims to take the goals and beliefs of Clay, the famous statesman, and bring them into a modern context.
Parisi is majoring in political science and cinema studies and a minor in justice studies and English. At UNH, he works with St. Jude’s Up ‘Til Dawn, a group that raises money for medical research at St. Jude Hospital, and after graduation he hopes to go to graduate school to pursue a career in law.
