Two injured when car leaves road

HOLLIS – A Pepperell, Mass., woman and her passenger, a minor, were taken to St. Joseph Hospital early Wednesday, after their car left the road, striking a utility pole and ending up in a field.

The accident happened at 1 a.m., according to police.

Police Lt. James Sartell said Jennifer Confrancisco, 18, of 34 Lowell Road, Pepperell, was driving south on Route 122 and fell asleep, not far from Hollis/Brookline High School.

“I noticed the driver was sleeping and slapped her to wake up,” Sartell said the passenger told police.

Driver and passenger were transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua following the accident, but on Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said neither was a patient.

Sartell said the injuries appeared minor.
