Three businesses are hit by thieves
Police are investigating thefts from three businesses on Proctor Hill Road that occurred Saturday, resulting in the loss of more than $10,000 in tools, equipment and auto parts.
Sgt. Richard Mello said RMR Restorations at 265A Proctor Hill Road, B. Jean Excavation at 265B Proctor Hill Road and Road and Lawn Systems Landscaping at 254 Proctor Hill Road were broken into Sept. 19 sometime between 8 and 10 p.m.
Thieves took tools, auto parts, compressors, tire rims, a snow blower, a generator and sheet metal, Mello said, adding that similar thefts are under investigation in Brookline.
The two departments are working together, Mello said.
“It doesn’t happen very often,” he said of the multiple thefts. “Not in Hollis.”
Mello said police believe the culprits were driving a newer model Ford pickup.
He urged anyone with information to contact the Hollis Police Department at 465-7637.
