Telegraph earns top press honors
BEDFORD – The New Hampshire Press Association recognized the work of The Telegraph and its affiliated weekly newspaper, The Cabinet of Milford, with 22 awards during the organization’s annual meeting and dinner Friday at Manchester Country Club.
The Telegraph and The Concord Monitor tied for first place in general excellence for their Sunday editions. Other first-place awards for The Telegraph included design, front page, sports section, arts and entertainment section (Encore) and illustration.
Telegraph photographer Corey Perrine was awarded first place for best slide show and third place for picture story.
Sports editor Alan Greenwood received a second-place award for sports columnist of the year. Other second-place awards included spot news story, education story, business and economic reporting, best Web site, general news, feature section and Sunday arts section.
Reporters Andrew Wolfe and Stephanie Hooper placed second in the community journalism category for their series on gang activity in Nashua. Photo editor Don Himsel won two of three awards for best video, placing second and third.
The Cabinet won for general excellence in the weekly category, and received second place for spot news and third place for front page.
