Talking trash after the holidays
Following the Memorial Day holiday will be one of those weeks in which Tuesday is actually Wednesday, Wednesday is Thursday, and so on.
At least when is comes to city trash collection.
For Memorial Day itself, the Four Hills Landfill, Nashua Recycling Center and Solid Waste Department will close, and curbside collections will be suspended.
The fun comes in the ensuing days, at least for residents who forget the city’s standard one-day-delay schedule following Monday holidays.
Collections of recyclables, trash and soft yard wastes will be delayed by one day during the week, with Monday’s routes picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday’s routes on Wednesday, and so forth, until all routes are collected by Saturday, May 30.
After that, Mondays are Mondays again, and all’s right with the world.
