Station promotes new news director

MANCHESTER – WMUR-TV promoted one of its own in appointing a new news director.

Alisha McDevitt, assistant news director at the Manchester television station since 2003, will now lead the news department, WMUR announced Friday.

McDevitt started her career as a producer with WMUR in 1995. She has worked on several New Hampshire primaries, and co-produced national presidential debates with CNN, Fox NewsChannel and ABC.

She won an Emmy for WMUR’s coverage of the 2008 New Hampshire Primary.

“I have seen and been a part of this station’s growth for many years, and now I am looking forward to making a great news product even better,” McDevitt said.
