Souhegan teacher wants to be rich
AMHERST – Souhegan High School teacher Marcey Rawitscher will appear at the end of today’s episode of the television program “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” which can be seen on WMUR Channel 9 at 12:30 p.m.
Because her game is interrupted by time restraints in the episode, Rawitscher, who has taught social studies and English at Souhegan for 17 years, will be the first contestant Monday. Rawitscher, 51, was one of seven teachers selected to compete during Millionaire’s teacher week.
“It was a great experience,” Rawitscher said. “I had a great time, and it was really cool.”
Contest rules and regulations prohibit Rawitscher from disclosing how much money she won until both episodes that she was on have aired. Rawitscher plans to watch Monday’s installment with her class. A complete story about Rawitscher’s trip to “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” will appear in the Education section of the Sunday Telegraph of Nov. 2.
