Send Girl Scout cookies to troops overseas
BEDFORD – Looking for a creative way to show your support for U. S. military personnel?
Thanks to the New Hampshire Air National Guard’s family support program, Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains will again ship Girl Scout cookies to U.S. servicemen and women to give them a taste of home.
Last year, the Family Readiness Program of the N.H. Air National Guard helped ship more than a ton of cookies (more than 12,000 boxes).
Purchase a half-case for $21, full case for $42 or just send a donation. There are 12 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in each case.
At last year’s delivery at Pease Air Force Base, Master Sgt. Mike Ploof helped unload the truck. He said that the year before he had been in Afghanistan, where he was on the receiving end of the delivery.
“It was tremendous!” he said. “It meant so much to us to get this special treat from home, and the letters and cards, too.”
