School's appeal OK'd

Milford Middle School is no longer considered a “School in Need of Improvement.”

That designation is part of accountability measures from the state Department of Education and the federal No Child Left Behind Act. MMS was listed in that category when the most recent Adequate Yearly Progress testing results were released by the state in April.

School administrators said they reviewed the data, corrected an error, and then the state granted the appeal.
