School head's fate to be decided soon
Whether Nashua schools will need a new superintendent may be known within the next week.
The North Andover, Mass., school committee is hoping to make a decision on a new superintendent at its Dec. 22 meeting, according to an article in The Eagle-Tribune last week.
Nashua Superintendent Christopher Hottel, who was hired as an assistant superintendent in Nashua in 2005, is one of four finalists for the superintendent position in North Andover.
All four finalists are scheduled to make visits to the district this week, with each visit concluding with a public interview with the school committee. Hottel’s interview is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
Hottel was named acting superintendent in 2006 and was officially given the job in February 2007. He said last week that he had only planned on working in Nashua for three to six years before returning to Massachusetts to finish his career.
