River level to be lowered for work
The Merrimack River upstream of Lowell, Mass, is being lowered by a few feet for continuing flashboard work on the Pawtucket Dam.
It is expected to return to normal level, so-called “crest-of-flashboard,” by Aug. 5, weather and water conditions permitting.
The dam is operated by Boott Hydropower Inc., which is part of Enel North America, an Italian utility with companies in 21 countries.
