Paving underway on turnpike

A paving project on about three miles of the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack has begun.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will resurface 2.6 miles of roadway running through the town and an additional one-mile stretch in Manchester, according to a press statement.

Both northbound and southbound lanes – from ½-mile south of Exit 10 to one mile north of Exit 11 – will be paved. Manchester’s stretch is near Exit 5.

Daytime work involving catch basins and rumble strip removal will occur from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Paving operations will be done at night from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Lane closures and brief ramp closures are expected, the statement said. Continental Paving, Inc., of Londonderry is the contractor of the $1.6 million project, which is scheduled to wrap up Aug. 22.
