Open house set for Birth Place at city hospital
NASHUA – Southern New Hampshire Medical Center will officially open its new birth center Thursday.
The hospital’s 25,000-square-foot Birth Place is described as a state-of-the-art facility with private birthing suites that include guest space and a bathroom with whirlpool tub, plus infant security and easy access to a newborn intensive care unit down the hall.
An open house to tour the facility and meet physicians and staff from the Birth Place, intensive care unit and pediatrics unit will be held from 4-6 p.m.
The Birth Place is part of a three-story, 50,000-square-foot addition fronting Prospect Street for which ground was broken in November 2007. The addition also includes expanded laboratory service and future medical space.
