MCAA to host Boston comics at fundraiser

MILFORD – The Milford Community Athletic Association is hosting a comedy night fundraiser featuring two Boston comedians Saturday at Hampshire Hills.

The money will go toward repairing damage to the fields on North River Road and snack bar from the 2007 floods, installing new lights and toward general operating expenses, said MCAA President Kevin Federico.

“Dirt is expensive,” Federico said, referring to needed repairs.

Boston comedians Dave Russo and Harrison Stebbins will be the featured performers.

Russo has performed at The Comic Strip, Dangerfields and Gotham Comedy Clubs in New York City, as well as The LA Improv and The Comedy Store.

Russo is a Boston Comedy Festival award winner, has appeared on E Television Network’s “The Entertainer,” Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots Comedy Tour, the ESPN Sports Awards and NESN Comedy All Stars.

Also appearing on the show will be host Mike Smith.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the show at 8 p.m.
