Man accused of stealing copper

A Hudson man was charged Wednesday with stealing copper from a Merrimack company, police said.

Thomas S. Carey, 31, of 7 Nottingham St., is accused of taking the metal from GT Solar, a manufacturing outfit on Daniel Webster Highway.

Police have been investigating the thefts for the past few months, according to a press release.

They issued a warrant for Carey’s arrest, and he turned himself in when he found out about it, police said.

Carey brought to the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections in Manchester and held on $10,000 cash or corporate surety. He was arraigned in Merrimack District Court on Thursday.
