Injured school volunteer identified

NASHUA – Police have identified the school volunteer hit by a car outside Bicentennial Elementary School on Thursday night as Heather Minch, of 8 Shakespeare Road.

Minch and her family were attending an after-school literacy event at the school, and her husband and three children were already inside when she was hit by a car on Main Dunstable Road, near Lisa Drive.

She suffered a fractured skull, broken leg and other injuries and was treated at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center before being transported to a Boston hospital, fire officials said.

School Principal Kyle Langille said she’d been told Minch was expected to recover, although her injuries were extensive. Minch had volunteered at the school for many years, Langille said.
