Hudson student wins top honors at pageant
NASHUA – Ashley Dumont of Hudson took home top honors when she was crowned the 2009 Miss N.H. Junior Teenager on March 14 at Daniel Webster College in Nashua.
Pageant winners from all over the state came to compete in the N.H. Teenager Scholarship Pageant to showcase their talents and achievements. Dumont received a $10,000 scholarship to Eckerd College.
Dumont, 14, is a freshman at Alvirne High School, where she is actively involved in various clubs and organizations. She is an honor student and a member of the Future Business Leaders of America organization.
Dumont volunteers once a week at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, and she volunteered at the Harlem, N.Y., and Burbank, Calif., Boys & Girls Clubs. In her spare time, Dumont enjoys cheerleading and tumbling, and she was on her school’s football and basketball varsity cheer team.
Dumont will represent New Hampshire at the National Competition in Nashville, Tenn., in July.
