Grateful family in Merrimack hosts party

When 8-year-old Lexi Kittle and her family needed help while dealing with Lexi’s grueling treatments for cancer last year, people came out of the woodwork to do whatever they could. Now, the Kittles want to say thanks, so they’ve organized a big ice cream sundae party Friday evening.

The evening of appreciation will take place at the Merrimack Valley Baptist Church, 517 Boston Post Road, Merrimack, starting at 7 p.m. The Kittles ask those planning to attend to RSVP to bkittle1010@ comcast.net by Wednesday.

Lexi, who attends South Merrimack Christian Academy, was diagnosed early in 2008 with Ewing’s sarcoma, a cancer that occurs mostly in bone or soft tissue. In Lexi’s case, she had a tumor in her upper leg bone.

Shortly afterward, she began outpatient chemotherapy treatment and has been battling since.

Brenda Kittle said everyone who contributed “prayers, as well as blessings of meals, presents for Lexi, and everything else that has helped make this time a bit easier” are welcome to attend.
