Fuel assistance on offer

Southern New Hampshire Services’ fuel assistance program is taking applications through April 30 for help with past or future energy use.

According to Energy Director Louise Bergeron, fuel assistance pays for oil, propane, wood, kerosene, natural gas or electricity.

Payments can be made to reduce or eliminate a past-due balance or create a credit balance for future energy use.

Applicants must qualify by household income for 30 days prior to the appointment. Benefits range from $120 to $975 for an eligible household. One person can earn up to $2,241 a month and a family of four up to $4,310 a month to qualify.

To apply, residents should call Southern New Hampshire Services’ Nashua office at 1-877-211-0723 to make an appointment.
