Former classic auto dealer indicted

The former owner of a classic auto dealership has been indicted on theft charges, which say he kept the proceeds of cars co-signed to him and never shared profits with the previous owners.

The Associated Press is reporting that Steven Lussier, of the now-closed Classic Cars of New England in Merrimack, was indicted last week after a long investigation.

Merrimack Deputy Police Chief Mark Doyle said at least six people brought cars to Lussier to be sold on consignment. Lussier allegedly sold the vehicles, Doyle said, but the original owners were never paid. The vehicles and proceeds are worth $150,000 to $200,000.

The business closed just after the investigation began last winter, according to The Associated Press.
