Farmers Market on the move

The Milford Farmers Market will open its 31st season today at its new location in the Granite Town Plaza. Tractor Supply invited the Farmers Market to make use of its parking lot, giving the market an opportunity to expand.

Among the vendors joining the market this season are Milford Farm and Fitch’s Corner, two local farms.

The produce offered this Saturday will include strawberries, lettuce and greens, and possibly sugar snap peas. The Kelly Corner Farm stand will also offer lamb products, eggs and hand-spun yarn.

Throughout the summer, the Milford Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon. For more information contact Market Coordinator Kris Mossey at 673-5792.

The new location – the market had been held for several years at the TD Banknorth lower parking lot on South Street – will give the market more space, with more room for parking and room for more vendors to join.

“It’s a change, but a little change is good,” Mossey said.
