Driver hits utility pole, cuts power
Some Hudson residents were without power again Friday night after a teen driver hit a utility pole with his car.
Police and firefighters responded to Beechwood Road near Boulder Drive around 7 p.m. when a single car accident was reported, police said.
They found a 2005 Nissan Frontier driven by 16-year-old Nathan Dignan, that had drifted off the right-hand side of the road before hitting a mailbox and the utility pole, police said.
Dignan was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was uninjured, police said.
The crash broke the pole and caused some power outages in the neighborhood. PSNH crews were called to the scene immediately and began working to restore power, police said.
The road had some snow on it at the time of the accident but had been treated, police said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
