District to change schedule for exams

NASHUA – The school district is moving forward with a plan to give high school juniors the buildings to themselves on the days when they will be taking statewide assessments this month.

For three days, Oct. 14 through 16, juniors will be expected to arrive at school at 7:20 a.m., the normal starting time for both high schools.

All other students will have a modified schedule and should not arrive until 9:35 a.m. on those days. Bus routes will be run twice on those days, picking up juniors at their normal time and all other students two and a half hours after their normal pickup times.

Intensive-needs students will not be impacted and are scheduled to be picked up at the normal 7:20 time.

After juniors take the test, classes will begin at 9:45 a.m. Students will attend shortened versions of all of their classes and school will let out at the normal 2:03 p.m. time.
