County joins Rx program
The Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners has voted to participate in a prescription discount card program.
The card was designed for uninsured or underinsured county residents. Through a partnership with Caremark, the discount card can save an average of 22 percent off the retail cost of prescription medication.
There are no enrollment fees, no forms to fill out, no age or income requirements and no medical condition requirements. In addition, everyone is eligible. A national network of 59,000 pharmacies honor the card, and consumers always get the lowest retail price. The program is being offered at no cost to the county. Caremark negotiates the discounts directly with the pharmacies.

For more information on obtaining a card, call the Hillsborough County Department of Human Services at 627-1478, 627-1479 and 627-1480.
