Chilly dip for a good cause

Police officers will be taking the “penguin plunge” at the “penguin plunge” at Hampton Beach next month to raise money for Special Olympics New Hampshire.

Chief Mike Milligan, Capt. Peter Albert, officer Dan Jacques and Detective Ted Dillon will be among the officers dipping into the Atlantic Ocean on Feb. 1, Dillon said.

Before the plunge, each of them needs to raise $350, all of which benefits the Special Olympics organization.

The officers will solicit donations from businesses and hold nightly raffles at Merrimack Ten Pin, but they are hoping the public will help out, Dillon said.

Donations can be left at the Merrimack Police Department on Baboosic Lake Road. For questions or other ways to donate, call Dillon at 420-1820.
