Bumpers stolen from dealership
Seven chrome bumpers were stolen off Dodge pickup trucks at Contemporary Chrysler and Dodge earlier this week.
Police Chief Fred Douglas said the bumpers, which were unbolted from the trucks, were reported stolen overnight from the Elm St. dealership Monday. They were valued at $6,185.90.
“I guess junk dealers are paying high prices for metal,” Douglas said.
In July, two men were caught stacking assorted metal rail components on the tracks of the Milford-Bennington Railroad in Wilton. Last week one of the men pleaded guilty and the other one pleaded no contest to theft charges.
