Broadband takes center stage at telecom summit
Wireless technology, broadband and an “intro” course on telecommunications for businesses and municipalities will be among the highlights of the 2011 New Hampshire Telecommunications Summit.The summit – set for Wednesday, May 11, with registration beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester – is sponsored by the state Division of Economic Development, the New Hampshire Telecommunications Association, HeadNetworks and media sponsor NHBR.Sessions will include a presentation by Scott Valcourt of the University of New Hampshire focusing on the Network NH Now, the state’s new broadband initiative as well as a discussion of statewide broadband and expansion incentives, with a panel made up of representatives of service providers and moderated by Matt Cookson of the New Hampshire High Technology Council.Breakout session topics will be “Wireless/Cellular Technology Today,” “Where’s my Broadband?” and “Telecom 101 for Businesses and Municipalities.”Cost to attend is $75, including lunch.
