Boys & Girls Club to host week of teen activities, annual dinner

NASHUA – Local teens are invited to visit and participate in activities at the Teen Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, 47 Grand Ave., throughout this week to celebrate the new center.

Today from 6-9 p.m., participate in Nashua’s version of “Star Search.” Come to perform or watch teens compete for star recognition. Winners go to the N.H. talent show.

The center will host a health and wellness expo Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Watch or participate in cardio kickboxing, strength training, “Madden Football” video tournament and workout routines. Healthy snacks will be served.

An arts fair will be held Wednesday from 3-6:30 p.m. Discover your inner artist and explore your creative side with activities like dance, “Guitar Hero” tournament and art projects.

On Thursday from 6-8:30 p.m., join a table tennis tournament, three-on-three basketball tournament and an NBA video tournament at the Sports Rodeo. Stadium food will be served.

Friday night is dance night from 6:30-10 p.m. with a surprise disc jockey. Raffles and contests will be held. Admission is free with club membership.

Just for teens ages 13-18, the Teen Center has a fitness center with cardio and elliptical machines and free weights, locker rooms, music recording studio and sound booth, performance stage, cafe, lounge areas, dance studio, cultural arts studio, career and education room with PCs and more.
