BoA: Branch workers are not losing jobs

Bank of America says no employees will lose their jobs when the Hudson branch closes today.

Spokesperson Anne Pace said all of the employees are being transferred to other branches and have new positions now. She declined to say how many people work at the branch. Hudson customers are being referred to one of four Nashua branches at 157 Main St., according to Pace.

Bank of America is closing two New Hampshire branches as part of a nationwide effort to shrink its number of physical locations. The bank says the move is a response to more customers turning to online banking, although some outside experts claim it has more to do with the branches not performing well financially. The other New Hampshire branch that is closing is on Brown Avenue in Manchester.
