Amherst cafe still mulling over spring reopening
Whether or not J. Beaner’s Cafe reopens will be determined in April, according to a co-owner.
The cafe, at 25 Route 101A in Amherst, closed Dec. 21, shortly after the large ice storm.
Co-owner Linwood Galeucia, who runs the cafe with his daughter, Jill, said business has been slow in recent winters, much of which was spent “battling storms.”
In the meantime, there are some renovations being done at the building, he said.
Linwood Galeucia said he is currently in Florida.
J. Beaner’s is still taking catering orders, according to a note on the door. Call Greg at 318-9762 for more information.
J. Beaner’s is the second local coffeehouse that’s been closed this winter. Santos Dumont, a cafe in Milford near the Wilton town line, changed ownership last fall and is expected to reopen this spring after renovations.
